‘Bandar Band’ to represent Iran at Hong Kong Asian filmfest

Iranian movie ‘Bandar Band’ has made its way to the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival.

The film directed by Manijeh Hekmat will be screened at the 2020 edition of the event.

A lineup of 53 films from 16 Asian countries is to compete at various sections of the festival.

‘Bandar Band’ is a road movie that depicts flooded landscapes of Iran. The movie is filled with music.

Reza Koulqani, Amir-Hossein Taheri, Mahdieh Mousavi and Pegah Ahangarani, the director’s daughter are some of the cast members of the flick.

The film has already participated in a number of global film events, including the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada and the Zurich Film Festival in Germany.

Hong Kong Asian Film Festival (HKAFF) is a film festival held annually in Hong Kong. Started in 2004 as an indie film festival, it has since grown into a large film festival known in Hong Kong.

The 17th edition of the event is scheduled for November 22, 2020.
